Asphalt Coatings Company Stripes Parking Lots for Traditions in Colorado Springs, Colorado
For a 55+ apartment community, parking lot markings do more than organize cars. Accessible stalls close to the doors, crosswalks to the entrances and clear fire lanes all help residents move safely between their cars and their homes. At Traditions at Colorado Springs on Tutt Boulevard, Asphalt Coatings Company striped the parking lots over two nights.

Two Nights of Striping
Asphalt Coatings Company striped Traditions at Colorado Springs over two nights. Night work keeps the lot clear of most parked cars and lets residents return the next day to fresh markings.
ADA stalls now sit close to the building doors. Crosswalks connect the lots to the entrances and garages. The stall rows, no-parking zones and fire lane curbs were all repainted as well.
ADA Stalls Beside Buildings and Carports
Asphalt Coatings Company marked ADA stalls at Traditions with blue accessible symbols and white hatched aisles beside the buildings and carports.
- Building rows: several ADA stalls line the walk in front of each apartment building, each paired with a hatched access aisle.
- Carports: under the carports, ADA stalls face the row of garages.
- No parking: a white hatched area and a NO PARKING stencil keep the space by a building door clear.
For a community of older residents, having accessible stalls along the walk in front of each building shortens the distance from car to door.
Crosswalks to the Entrances and Garages
Asphalt Coatings Company painted white crosswalk bars across the drives at Traditions. Crosswalks cross at the main entrance, on the entry road and between a sidewalk ramp and the garages.
Marked crosswalks tell drivers where to expect people on foot, which matters on drives shared by residents walking to the garages and entrances.
Red Fire Lane Curbs
Asphalt Coatings Company painted long stretches of curb red along the drives at Traditions, including the fire lane in front of the entrance canopy. A clearly marked fire lane at the canopy keeps the entrance open for emergency vehicles and drop-off.
Laying Out the Stall Rows
Asphalt Coatings Company laid out each stall row at Traditions with a red layout line, then ran a walk-behind striper along it to paint the white stall lines. The layout line keeps each row straight and the stall ends even.
