The Trustee Board delegate the day to day management of Citizens Advice Stockport to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Steve Hughes – Chief Executive Officer
Steve joined the Citizens Advice service in 2012, originally as a volunteer trustee for a local Citizens Advice in Lancashire. His first paid role was at Citizens Advice Bolton where he was the project manager for a Big Lottery project. Within the year, he was promoted to be the on the leadership team as the Service Development Manager leading funding and organisational infrastructure development.
Following that, Steve became the Operations Director for Citizens Advice Carlisle & Eden. There he was responsible for the development of their telephone adviceline service, and organisational structure review.
In June 2016, Steve joined Citizens Advice Stockport (CAS) as the Operations Manager, officially becoming the Chief Executive Officer in February 2018 after a period of being the Interim Chief Executive and is focused on ensuring CAS provides the highest quality services to the residents of Stockport.
Elaine Fairbrother – Operations Manager
Elaine joined the Citizens Advice Stockport Specialist Debt Advice team in 2008 having joined the organisation in 2006 as a volunteer adviser.
Since 2009 Elaine has been responsible for service delivery in the Cheadle & Gatley office and has now joined the leadership team as the Operations Manager. As Operations Manager, Elaine is focused on ensuring the residents of Stockport have access to advice and information of the highest quality throughout the borough and will be working to ensure clients needs are continued to be met.
Jake Morrison – Volunteers, Learning and Campaigns Lead
Jake joined Citizens Advice Stockport in March 2018 having previously worked in the Citizens Advice network as a Volunteer Coordinator & Trainer. He also manages a national charity based in Liverpool, placing lifesaving defibrillators in communities across the UK. Previously he managed a LGBT anti-bullying project for a Government programme and worked on community development and suicide prevention for a local Mind.
As Volunteers, Learning & Campaigns Lead, Jake is focused on developing volunteering opportunities in the organisation, and training staff and volunteers to ensure we give high-quality advice and information to our services. Jake also leads on Campaigns, raising awareness of the work of Citizens Advice Stockport and challenging issues that affect local people.
Allison O’Shea – Business Support Lead
Allison first joined the Citizens Advice service 14 years ago. Most recently managing Citizens Advice Blackburn, Allison joined Stockport in March 2018 as Business Support Lead.
Allison supports our governance structures working with the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team, focusing on finance and requirements such as GDPR.
