Equality and Diversity

About the course:

This three hour session is designed to provide an introduction to Equality and Diversity. Looking at the Equality Act, participants will explore different forms of discrimination, the importance of identity, how to become a more inclusive workplace and in providing services to the public.

By the end of this training session, participants should be able to:

  • Understand people's differences, different terminology, descriptions and the importance of identity
  • Identify forms of discrimination
  • Understand the protected characteristics under the Equality Act
  • Identify ways for your own organisation to become more diverse and inclusive

About the trainer:

This course has been designed by our Training Lead, with a varied background in local government, mental health work, managing a Government funded equality programme and our work at Citizens Advice Stockport. His personal background on some of these issues adds a dynamic to the course, encouraging healthy discussion and exploration around a subject that many people have still not yet explored. Led by a passion for delivering effective and meaningful services, your learners can be confident that the content will be relevant and that they can fully participate in the group.
